Alan joined Marketforce in 1976 as a Sales Representative for Wolverhampton and the West Midlands. In 1984 he was appointed to the role of Area Manager for Central Southern England, and in 1988 was promoted to the position of Regional Sales Manager for the North West. Alan then moved from the field into the Marketforce head office, taking up the roles as both Operations Manager and Wholesale Sales Manager. In late 1992 Alan moved to the RBI (Reed Business Information) arm of Reed Elsevier and was appointed to the role of Newstrade sales Manager, he was then promoted to Newstrade Director in 1995. A year later Alan returned to Marketforce in the role of Publishing Services Director, where he was also appointed to the Marketforce board. In 1997 Alan was appointed to Operations Director, and two years later took up the position of Logistics and Distribution Director, in conjunction with his existing Operations directorship.
 

Alan's 30-year career with Marketforce has provided him with an in-depth knowledge into the complexities of Marketforce and the Newstrade industry. As a consequence, the wider perspective of the supply chain can be incorporated into the direction of Marketforce's logistical and operational processes.
