ANGELIQUE FOWLIE

TESCO NATIONAL ACCOUNT MANAGER

Angelique joined Marketforce in 2003 from her role within International Licensing for parent company IPC Media, having previously spent over five years at Seymour in UK & Export Circulation and Territory Management for International.
 

In 2005 Angelique was appointed National Account Manager for WH Smith High Street having previously worked for WH Smith Travel and within the convenience retail channel. This role involves agreeing joint Marketforce and WH Smith objectives, standards, strategies and plans in areas of sales, revenue and operational standards. Consequently, Angelique is focused on ensuring these strategies and plans are implemented effectively, to maintain performance and service standards.
 

As part of the dedicated WH Smith High Street team of three, Angelique acts as the primary contact between Marketforce and WH Smith High Street, providing day-to-day management of the account. This requires the effective communication of key issues facing retail, to both Marketforce and our publishing clients, ensuring they have a comprehensive understanding of what challenges WH Smith High Street face within the magazine sector. Conversely, the role also involves the management of publisher strategy meetings with WH Smith High Street, ensuring publisher constraints and strategies are fully understood. This process ensures all areas of the business take collective responsibility to drive priorities, allowing our Retail team to deliver sales driving activity in line with publisher, retailer and consumer needs, with a view to maximise sales wherever and whenever possible.
 

Through the management of the WH Smith High Street account, Angelique takes responsibility for new launch proposals, securing listings, promotions, and the negotiation of retail prices. This sales driving activity requires of Angelique a comprehensive understanding of the WH Smith High Street retail environment, realising the potential to increase sales period on period, year on year and maintaining awareness of sales and growth potential. This area of Angelique's role entails closely liaising with internal departments to devise and implement business plans, which includes a rolling programme of effective promotional initiatives in addition to working along side the highly dedicated Category Management team, based at WH Smith Headquarters in Swindon, on store specific planograms.
